Heirloom
Mabalot, Danielle Ann V.
Cave paintings are not just a scramble of various illustrations. It is one of the most creative and wonderful ways of telling stories from the times of way before; every stroke is resourcefully done with the available tools. The stories that various cave paintings tell are priceless knowledge from the very firsts who have roamed this earth. These stories are bequeathed to us and are to be further passed on to future generations. With this, Heirloom is a piece inspired by the shift from hunting and gathering to agriculture. It is presented as a two-piece art; one comes in the form of a cave painting imitation that shows the overview of the shift to agriculture, and the other is a creative take of what the cave paintings must have meant taking the form of a heartfelt letter.
To the children of tomorrow, this Heirloom awaits you.
