35 Questions with an Anthro Student: Debunking the Myth of Racial Science

Lopez, Charlene Jemima A.

Inspired by Vogue’s 73 Questions video segment, I came up with 35 Questions with an Anthro Student: Debunking the Myth of Racial Science as my Unessay project. As anthropologists, we learn about what makes us human by looking at our past, present, and future. How society treats us is a crucial part of our present that will also shape what we become in the future; thus, the need to look at race. In this project, we tried to look at race’s validity as a biological concept, its history, and its impacts on society. The goal was to help people understand the root of the problem and clear up misconceptions, hoping that more people will be open to talking about race and racism.
