Marian (Ayan) Sanchez is a two-time UP Baguio alumna. A Pangasinense-Bukidnon Lumad, Ayan considers herself a #Baguiogirl. She lived in Baguio City for 16 years as a community health and development worker. She currently resides in Edmonton, Alberta (since August 2019) for her PhD training in Public Health. After finishing his Bachelor’s degree (BA) in UP Manila, Cedric worked as a Product Marketing Specialist for Mercedes-Benz Philippines. Two years later, he came to Canada as a graduate student and finished his program (MA) in 2020. While finishing his MA, he also worked as a researcher for Alberta Health Services. Cedric's interests in marketing and communications are particular to digital media, project management, and business and brand development. At present, he works as a creative strategist for multiple Canadian brands in retail, health and wellness, real estate, and food and beverage.

Albert is a PhD Candidate in Chemistry at the University of Alberta. His dissertation is focused on the interdisciplinary interface of microbial genomics and metabolomics, forest entomology, fungal synthetic biology, and natural product chemistry. As a community leader, Albert sees his community engagement as a natural extension of his scientific career, a space in which he can use leadership skills and management experience to give back to the society funding his research.
