Connect Kid’s Magazine: Prefacing Children and Adolescents to Biological Anthropology

Pinto, Camille Joy C.

From my observation, most people have the slightest idea of what anthropology is. As someone who grew without perception of what the field is all about, I have come up with something for my UnEssay. I made a kid’s magazine which I call as Connect Kids’ Magazine because I see how anthropology reveals the connections of one concept to another. Moreover, this magazine is intended for children and adolescents, so I made it simple, yet educational and engaging. Among all people, why did I choose the young ones, you ask? As I have mentioned, a lot of people, especially the youngsters, are unfamiliar with the field - this is why I created an output that would eventually help them understand anthropology afterward. The goal here is to preface them about the course - to let them know that there is such thing as anthropology.

Furthermore, I have chosen Primates as the main focus of the magazine for I find it really interesting. I think it would be a great introductory topic for youngsters. Since we are primates, the readers can get a grasp of interesting facts regarding themselves. With this, I would like to emphasize that I created this not for mere compliance but for something more. It is for the sake of others. Specifically, of children and adolescents. Frankly, I feel like I am becoming a bridge for someone out there to become one of our greatest anthropologists. Who knows? Perhaps, one of the readers who may get a hold of this magazine would actually become successful in this field someday.
